Introduction To MintStars: The Platform Made For Creators

MintStars is a newer platform on the adult content hosting block and it is making waves. From the absolutely mind boggling care they put into their creator support, to the payment platform they developed for sellers, they are putting other platforms to shame. Lets get real honest though, as a new platform, they have their growing pains here and there. Not only are they new, they are shaking up how things normally ‘work’ on content platforms. I genuinely have love for this platform and am so glad I was willing to learn their system. Y’all I promise you it was worth it. Lets get into everything MintStars and MintPay!

Introduction to MintStars

Some Background

MintStars is a sex-positive, NFT-powered subscription platform built specifically for adult content creators and their fans. In simple terms, it’s like an ethical alternative to mainstream fan sites. One that uses crypto technology to empower creators rather than exploit them. The platform was launched in 2023 (confirmed by Jessica Van Meir after finding so much information online that was wrong) by Jessica Van Meir (a sex workers’ rights advocate) and Daniel Sargent (a tech entrepreneur) with a mission to put control back in creators’ hands. They were fed up with how other platforms treated adult creators – from high fees and financial discrimination to censorship and sudden account bans. MintStars was their answer: a creator-first space where you can share adult content freely, keep 100% of your earnings, and not worry about being shut down for simply doing your job.

To tackle problems like banking discrimination and piracy, MintStars uses blockchain tech behind the scenes. Don’t let that scare you – as a user you don’t need to be a crypto expert (normally, however in May 2025 their payment processor is in transition, payouts are only available through crypto currently. They project this to be fixed in June 2025. Growing pains get us all). What it means is your content on MintStars becomes a digital collectible (NFT) rather than a easily pirate-able file. They explain it like this:

Payments on the platform happen in USDC, a stablecoin equivalent to the dollar, so creators are protected from financial discrimination, chargebacks, and delayed payouts.

I could genuinely sit here and talk for 3 hours about why I love this platform so much. It’s the refusal to tolerate chargebacks. It’s the initiative taken for direct selling creators to create a payment platform. It’s the creator Discord where they actually listen and actually care and actually hear. It’s the fact that they tip me and all creators all the time, for no goddamn reason other than the fact that they care and actually want their creators to flourish. It ‘s the internal promotion. Y’all it’s the fact that I had not posted there for a month, and yet still I was pushed out with my content and somebody found me a month later.

A platform with morals like that, not to mention their creators discord server where the ACTUAL FOUNDER AND TEAM, NOT BOTS, respond and work with you to take platform suggestions and help fix the struggles, is one Creators Spicy Tea is damn happy to stand behind.

A Look at Content Guidelines

MintStars prides itself on being “sex-positive” and having low censorship. This means they allow pretty much all kinds of adult content that are legal: BDSM, fetish and kink content, LGBTQ+ content, etc., are welcome. That said, “less censorship” doesn’t mean no rules. The content policy and TOS prohibits any content that is illegal or truly harmful. Be certain to read their entire guidelines (linked above) Obvious bans include: content involving bestiality or animals, sexual violence/non-consensual scenarios, hard drug use on camera, incest, rape themes, human trafficking, and so on – basically the stuff that would be illegal or extremely unsafe. MintStars also won’t allow doxxing or any non-consensual imagery (e.g. hidden cams or revenge porn). Using common sense is actually a good rule of thumb here: if a type of content could seriously harm someone or break a law, it doesn’t belong on MintStars. Otherwise, you have a lot of freedom to express your sexuality and niche interests without the prudish restrictions of other sites. Along side that, there is the same regulations on co-stars as there is on all adult content platforms. 2257s are required for any content showing any creator that is not verified as a creator on the platform.

Chargeback Policy

This is more a feature than a rule, but worth noting under ToS and the Fan Terms, Section 14.1 and section 6.8: MintStars’ terms highlight that all sales are final (barring something like fraud). Because payments happen in stablecoin crypto, fans cannot perform chargebacks. So you’re protected from that particular headache. Be sure to remember that creators are responsible for their own taxes on earnings – so keep track of your income as needed, since MintStars doesn’t withhold anything (you’re getting 100% after all).

Understanding MintPay & Earning on MintStars

One of the coolest features of MintStars is MintPay, the platform’s integrated tipping and payout system. MintPay was introduced to make it easy for fans to support you with tips, and for you as a creator to get paid quickly and safely. The standout feature? Fans can send you a tip even if they don’t have a MintStars account. For example, you could share a MintPay link on social media and a fan can click it to tip you without jumping through signup hoops. This lowers the barrier for casual supporters to drop some cash your way. Y’all, It is the way I am chomping at the bit for this to come back up. I love, love this payment platform.

MintPay Benefits

  • Secure, discreet payments: MintPay transactions use the stablecoin USDC under the hood, meaning payments are reliable and not subject to random reversals. Fans can pay with regular methods (credit/debit) and it converts behind the scenes – no crypto knowledge needed. Payments are privacy-focused too: your fans’ real names don’t have to be exposed to you, and their bank statements won’t scream “adult content” (MintStars keeps charges as discreet as possible). This privacy makes fans more comfortable spending on your content.
  • No fees or chargebacks for creators: Like the rest of MintStars, tipping comes with 0% fees taken from creators. You keep all of what’s tipped to you. (The platform instead charges a tiny fee to fans as a service fee on tips or purchases.) Also, because payments are crypto-based and final, fans cannot charge back or dispute a tip after the fact. You’ll never have the nightmare of a payout being yanked back out of your account due to a fraudulent claim. This is huge for financial peace of mind.
  • Fast, easy payouts: Money you earn on MintStars (from tips or any earnings) lands in your MintStars wallet as USDC and you can withdraw at any time. So no waiting for a monthly payout date. Payouts are typically immediate or very quick, since it’s just a crypto transaction. Another bonus, no payout fees!
  • An adult friendly pay site: All of us direct selling folks can finally take a deep breath and rest a bit easier. This tipping platform that they created and offered is finally what we have been looking for. A safe, stress-free platform to accept tips and payments for direct content sales. They are genuinely phenomenal. They built this directly for us to get paid with zero fees, zero worries about account bans, and zero stress of a payment processor coming and screwing us over.
  • Fan benefits and rewards: You have the control to set up benefits or rewards such as videos or images or etc. You can set this up to trigger and send to your fan automatically after they have tipped certain amounts that you have designated. You can decide if a fan tips $5,000 they get a reward, or if they tip 10 times they get a reward, for an example. You really have a lot of control of your fan interaction here.

How You Can Earn On MintStars

Now we’re at the really juicy part. How in hell do you make money on this platform? It’s very different than other content platforms y’all. Be prepared for that. But the platform gives you multiple ways to earn and it’s flexible enough to fit very many different content styles. Here’s just a quick breakdown of some of the methods:

  • Subscriptions: Just like other fan sites, you can offer monthly subscriptions. Fans subscribe to your profile for a monthly fee that you set, and in return they get access to your exclusive feed of content (photos, videos, etc.) and possibly other perks you decide on. What’s unique is that on MintStars, subscription content isn’t just for viewing. It comes as collectible items (more on that in the next bullet point). For pricing, you have full control to choose what makes sense for your content and audience. And remember, MintStars takes 0% of your subscription earnings. You charge $20/month, you get the full $20 (the fan pays an extra 5% fee to the platform). This is a big contrast to sites that might take 20% or more of your sub income. Y’all the IRS (or equivalent) takes enough of our pay. It’s about time a platform is doing this for us!
  • Single Content Sales (Collectibles): Besides (or in addition to) subscriptions, you can sell individual pieces of content. Think of these like clips or photo sets that fans can buy à la carte. MintStars leverages NFTs to let you create limited-edition content drops. For example, you could post a spicy photoshoot or a solo video and say only 10 copies are available for sale. Upload that (with their lightning fast uploader – in comparison to other platforms) and then fans can buy them as digital collectibles. You set whatever price you want for each. Because these are NFTs, fans own that content item once they buy it (they get a token proving ownership) and can even resell it later. This creates a bit of trading card excitement around your content and can drive fans to snag items quickly. The key point is you get paid upfront for each sale, with no cut taken by MintStars, and you’re also entitled to royalties if that item is resold (see next bullet). Breath though, this is only allowed on the platform. And though they are granted a non-exclusive license to view and resell, that original is still our property, as stated in the user terms and conditions for fans in section 12 And 10. (Big tip here, watermark everything!)
  • Resale Royalties: This is where MintStars truly stands out. Every time a fan resells one of your content NFTs to another fan on the platform, you earn a royalty automatically. You can set the percentage for your resale royalties (common is around 10%. Personally, I set my royalties to 30%. Is that likely to deter resale or even sales overall? Yes. But that’s not my overall main purpose for the platform, so that fits with my business model.). For example, a fan buys your clip for $10 and later another user buys it from them for $15; that reseller fan keeps most of the profit, but you would get $4.50 (30%) from that resale without lifting a finger. It’s passive income that can continue long after your initial sale. MintStars’ model actively encourages fans to promote and re-sell content for this reason, creating a win-win: fans earn, and you keep earning too.
  • Tips and Custom Requests: Beyond structured sales, MintStars allows good ol’ tipping. This is a main reason I love this platform. Fans can tip any amount to show appreciation, either through the platform or via MintPay links you share. Some creators might use this as a way to accept payments for custom content or special requests. Because tips have zero fees taken out on the creator side, MintStars is great for accepting payment for one-off services like customs, sexting sessions, etc. The fan simply sends the tip and you deliver the agreed content privately. All of it stays within MintStars’ ecosystem (safe and discreet).
  • Referrals: Now, I’m having a hard time remembering off the top of my head, but it was either late 2024, or early 2025 they launched their creator referral program. It’s extremely simple and follows most platforms format. Simply invite a friend using your link, your friend verifies their account, and then This is where mint steps up the game. Once that friend earns their first $20 on the platform, you are earning a $25 reward. That $25 reward is paid out once you have reached five referrals. And because we take advantage of all income opportunities here, if you are thinking of joining, please feel free to use this link!

Best Practices on MintStars

Having the tools is one thing, but using them effectively is another. Here are some research-based and experience-based tips and best practices to help you thrive on MintStars:

1. Leverage the “Collectible” Culture

MintStars is not just a clone of other fan sites; its NFT system means you can get creative with how you release content. A great strategy is to treat some posts as events or drops (Please note this is research-based). For example, announce that you’ll drop a limited edition video on Friday at 8 PM and only 20 copies will be available. This builds hype and urgency among your fans. It encourages immediate sales and also gets fans talking (and even competing) for your content. Since fans can resell items, some might buy two copies, one to keep, one to flip, effectively becoming your promoters. Encourage that! By embracing the marketplace aspect, you turn your content into an interactive experience for fans. That mentality can really boost engagement.

2. Quality Over Quantity (Reduce Burnout)

Because you can earn from resales and set higher prices for scarce content, you don’t need to churn out multiple daily posts to make a good income here. Focus on quality content that your fans will love enough to collect. MintStars even advertises “make more from less content” and aims to help creators “reduce burnout”. This is a breath of fresh air in an industry that pressures creators to post constantly. Take advantage of it. We can feel less pressure to post 20,000 times in one day. Instead make a fantastic post maybe once a day, maybe once a week. It will all depend on your audience. And if that one post sells multiple copies and resells over time, you have the potential to earn as much as (or more than) grinding out daily posts on other platforms. Like I said at the beginning of this, I hadn’t posted for around a month, and I’m still being pushed. They are here for creators and are doing what we need.

3. Set Fair Prices and Royalties

When pricing subscriptions or collectibles, consider your fanbase and adjust as needed. Early on, you might price a bit lower to attract fans and gain traction. Remember that fans also pay a 5% fee on top, so factor that into high prices. Many creators keep their sub price reasonably low (to build audience) and make bigger money on one-off content sales. Also, choose a royalty rate that feels right – too high (like 50%) might deter resales, too low and you miss out. Around 5-15% royalty is common. You want fans to feel rewarded for reselling your content, while you still benefit. It’s okay to experiment; you can adjust strategies as you see what works.

4. Engage and Build Your Community

Even though MintStars has novel tech, the core of success remains building a loyal fan community and as always, building that connection. Interact with your fans regularly. MintStars has features like a chat system and the ability for fans to comment on posts. Use them both. Reply to DMs (within your boundaries), comment back on nice messages. The more connected your fans feel to you, the more likely they are to subscribe and keep supporting you. Also, welcome new subscribers with a personal note or a little freebie; it goes a long way in retention. Content creation these days is not just about turning out sexy content. It’s about building that connection. You can absolutely do that here.

5. Promote Your MintStars on Other Platforms

Because MintStars is newer than, say, OnlyFans, you might have to educate some of your followers about it. Use your Twitter, Instagram, TikTok (carefully), Bluesky or Reddit presence to promote your MintStars link. Emphasize the benefits to fans: for example, tweet that on MintStars fans can actually earn money by reselling your content. All that intrigue can pull people in. Also mention the privacy and discretion aspect for fans who might be nervous or in need of discretion. Many fans will find that reassuring compared to platforms that plaster charges under suspicious merchant names. Always check social platform rules (mark NSFW as needed such as on Reddit or blue sky), but definitely put yourself out there. You can even use the MintPay tip link in your bios for those who want to drop a tip without signing up. Though the platform is still definitely new, it is now fairly widely known in the direct selling world and is slowly but surely becoming more and more known elsewhere.

6. Use Analytics and Gamification:

MintStars is building community and gamification features that can give you insights into your top fans and top-selling content. I’m going to be super honest with y’all, the analytics, or the stats, are very very minimal at the moment.. But, take advantage of any data available. For example, if you notice certain content categories (maybe “cosplay” or “JOI clips”) sell the best and get resold quickly, consider making more of that genre. Since there is no on platform analytics to track which of your content is performing better, or at least not a very clean one just yet, I always make sure to use my client and order tracker for every order I get there. I then just run the data through my GPT bot I made, and make data driven decisions.

A further note towards gamification, We mentioned earlier that feature that mint pay has to automatically reward frequent or heavy tippers with content. This is in my mind absolutely brilliant. Rewarding and recognizing top fans not only pleases them (making them more likely to keep supporting), but also might motivate others to engage more. So promote the fact that you have that reward waiting for them.

7. Collaborate and Cross-Promote

If you know other creators on MintStars, consider doing collaborations or shoutouts for each other. Since the platform is community-focused, a collab (like a joint photoset or video where you both mint and share revenue) could attract each other’s fans. Or do a simple “Follow Fridays” post highlighting fellow MintStars creators you like or something similar. This kind of networking can help everyone grow their audience. Remember, for absolute best results during a shout out for shout out, you want to find someone at least very very close to the same niche as you are.

MintStars’ team and Discord are also great places to meet other creators and share tips (don’t underestimate the power of peer advice, and that always there, always human support!).

8. Stay Updated with MintStars’ Features

The platform is evolving. They’ve been adding things like MintPay, (which let me tell you I lost my mind with excitedness when that launched. One of the best days, and it immediately went into our safe payment methods resource) and they have hinted at future features like fan badges, possibly new ways to engage, etc. Keep an eye on the MintStars socials or Discord announcements so you can be among the first to try new features. Early adopters often benefit. For instance, when MintPay launched, MintStars waived the 5% fee for the first three months as a promo. Being in the loop means you won’t miss such opportunities. Plus, you can plan content around new features.

Lastly, remember that building success on any platform takes time. MintStars offers powerful tools and a supportive environment, but consistency is key. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t explode in earnings in month one. As you continue to post quality content, interact with fans, and adjust to what works best, you’ll see growth. Many creators find that the effort-to-reward ratio on MintStars gets better over time – especially as fans start utilizing that resale marketplace which can create a snowball effect of income.

Final Thoughts

Y’all I have been screaming the praises of this platform since I think right around when she blossomed into the world. They have been phenomenal from day one.

Let’s just do a quick compare of them to only fans. Only fans will take 20% from you. Mint stars takes nothing. Only fans support is notoriously absent and notoriously robotic. Mint stars built a community full of creators and their team to have open and genuine communication with their main clients, the creators. Only fans takes that percentage from you but provides absolutely no protection from chargebacks. Once again mint stars will not take a penny, and they will protect you from those chargebacks. Only fans offers absolutely no internal promotion. MintStars not only internally promotes you, but provides you with options for passive income as well.

I have never enjoyed platforms as a creator. I am staunchly against them. This is the only platform I am willing to stand up and say y’all got to check this out. She’s having some growing pains at this exact moment, but the roughly year long of history I’ve had with this platform and the team, and the flawless performance and service we see from support is worth any little growing pain.

This platform is worth your time. It is worth looking into. I can’t promise success or guarantee mass income earning. But I’m pretty sure I can at least say you are damn, damn likely to enjoy this platform more than any other one you’ve had. The platform, community and the team that they have created for us, is absolutely what creators have deserved for so long.
