How To: Verify in subreddits As a Faceless Creator

Going through the subreddit at verification process is a pain in the ass enough as is. Add in being faceless and the anxiety around that and I can’t imagine having to deal with it. I figured today we could sit together and break down how to verify in subreddits as a faceless creator.

Why do subreddits require photo verification?

We all know the photo verification step is the biggest pain in the ass part of it, so why is it so often required? Subreddits require you to send in photos of yourself, often holding a sign, with a prop etc, to help identify and confirm you are the one posting from your account and you are the one verifying. Basically, they do it to protect you if your account is stolen and someone tries and verify as you, and help prevent spread of stolen content and catfish. This verification step ensures that all content posted is original, and owned by the poster.

What are moderators looking for?

When looking at your photo verification we compare it to your posted content on your profile, and sometimes also your verified adult content site if also required. Moderators look for things like tattoos, birthmarks, identifying marks and features, hair color, body type, face, etc. They compare those markers to the ones on your profiles, verify you through, then forget everything they just saw because now there’s another one to do.

How do I verify if I don’t show my face?

If you read through a bunch of subreddit verification processes you will begin to notice patters. For example, almost all of them require the infamous crumpled sign. Another similarity is the requirement to show as much of yourself as you do in promotion. Meaning:

  • If you promote in lingerie, throw on some comfy sports bra and gym shorts and snap a shot and go. If you promote nude, check to see if that is required, if not, tight fitting clothing (doesn’t have to be revealing). Never unprompted send nudity as mods are likely not expecting it.
    • This allows mods to be able to look for those beauty marks and tattoos to compare the two images.
  • If you promote faceless, show up to the same amount in your promotion. So if you show up to your nose in promo, the verification photos should reflect that. If you are full face, your photos must be as well.
    • This will likely be seen by one person, then ignored and forgotten until the end of time. This is for mods to compare as much of the people in the images as possible to have a certain conclusion.

What if a subreddit requires I show my face?

If you are comfortable with it, go for it. Big thing to remember, you likely wont be permitted to delete the image, so be certain to be comfortable with that as well. If you are uncomfortable with it, there are thousands and thousands of other communities out there waiting for you to find. Never push your boundaries for subreddit verification or any other reasons.

Final Thoughts

When verifying, show the same level of yourself you do in your promotion, and you will be just fine. Moderating teams will reach out if more is ever needed, but never let yourself feel pressured.
