Spring Cleaning for Adult Creators

It’s March y’all and you know what that means! Spring cleaning time! That’s right it is that time of year where you beat the drapes and you get the dust off the bookshelf… and you pretend like you have your life together because of it. Creators Spicy Tea is currently doing some spring cleaning right now! We are taking out the trash, removing outdated resources, and yeeting unneeded nonsense and noise. All to make room for what we have planned out for this year and you guys I’m so excited for this year! But what does spring cleaning for adult creators look like?

Doing all this cleaning up over on our end got me realizing we need a resource going over spring cleaning! Because, y’all as creators we have a lot of spring cleaning that we could be doing. And I’m not only talking making sure your studio or workspace is dusted down. I’m talking our files, storage systems, the lingerie drawer we don’t want to really pay attention to because it’s so messy, you name it. So today we’re going to sit down and we’re going to go through a checklist of all the things adult creators can do to take out the trash of the past and do some spring cleaning for the future of prosperity.

Spring Cleaning Checklist

Content/ Digital

  • Clear out any images of any adult content that is not you or someone you have a 2257 or equivalent for. If you do ratings or custom content where you show your clients image, make sure that is deleted. You do not need to keep that once delivered. Make sure your device is not hiding the fact that it is also stored on your cloud!
  • Check your subreddit or equivalent promotional community list. If you are like me, you are subscribed to a ton of subreddits that you no longer use. Spring cleaning is a perfect time to go through and unsubscribe.
    • Pro Tip: when you do that, make sure you also remove them from your scheduler. For example if you use fangrowth.io like me for a promotional content scheduler, and you also use the subreddit grouping feature, make sure you remove any unused or fruitful subreddits from there.
  • Go look at your device settings. What’s your storage sitting at? Is it like mine and busting at the seams and now your whole device is moving at half pace because of it? Back up your content into a organized hard drive or cloud storage (or better yet both), and clear up that storage space!
  • When is the last time you went through an organized all of your content? Put it all in correct files and even correctly labeled it. Spring cleaning is the time to do this!
  • Go check out your profiles. Check out your content platforms and your socials. Spend a good long while scrolling through each one as if you are a user. Do you still align with everything that’s posted and still feel proud of everything? If not consider removing it. Creators spicy tea is removing things that we don’t align with anymore and that we know can be done correctly with a stronger more experienced and trustworthy voice. Its never something to feel ashamed of when looking back and thinking “damn, I could have done that better”. In fact, that is whole ass growth! If you feel anything but pride when you see some of your previously posted content, remove that and do it in a way that you know that you will feel pride for now.
  • Okay let’s get real… When was the last time you cleaned and archived your old, or unread DMs. I know it’s a daunting task. For myself right now on one telegram account my notifications are at 287 unread and my other telegram account is at 57. and that’s not close to counting the old, read DMs sitting in my messages. That is so much to have to sift through. But, if looking at that number everyday from messages that are months old is so incredibly stressful like it is for me, its time. Clear that out. If that number or notification or chaos is going to leave you in a state of chaos, just archive what makes sense, make note of it and clean and organize yourself.

Administrative

  • Check your accounting. Are all of your receipts filed away? Are they scanned and digitally filed? Are all of your books up to date so far? That’s always worth giving a look.
  • When was the last time you went through your physical files? Do you know where your business license (or any other super important document) is? This is a great time to organize those documents in file folders.

IRL/ Work Space

  • Remember when I mentioned that lingerie drawer? It’s time. Go through every piece and try every single thing on. See if it’s still fits you. If it does, make sure it’s clean fold it up nice or hang it up nice and move to the next. If it doesn’t fit, or if it’s a bit damaged etc, consider selling it! Here is a list of selling subreddits for physical content that you could consider doing that on. If you do not want to sell your old garments, consider donating to shelters or any other second hand goods companies that align with your ethics.
    • Pro tip: While you are trying it on, consider grabbing some photos in each piece for easy promo or content.
  • Go look at that mirror. When was the last time your mirror was really cleaned down? I don’t know why my makeup mirror is always clean, but my content shooting mirrors seem to always get dirty without me noticing until I’m in editing having to remove mystery smudges.
  • Look at the flow and the organization of your work area. Does it make sense? for all of your needs? If not now is a good time to restructure and reorganize. What is one thing you could change in under a half hour to optimize your flow?
  • One of the cheapest and most diverse options for a backdrop is just hanging up fabric on your walls. I have a lot of fabric hanging on my walls. My spring cleaning always involves ripping that down and throwing those all through the wash. This step is very easy to forget about until you are 6 days deep in an allergy attack and you can’t figure out why. Its the fabric on the walls. Trust me. Wash it.
  • Okay as adult content creators I know we tend to collect a lot of sex toys and set decor and props. Question for you, when was the last time you put every single one of those through a deep clean? Maybe it’s time to do it. I know you might not have touched that plug or that prop for the last 6 years, but that’s a lot of time to collect dust. Might as well give everything a wash.

Final Thoughts

This is only the beginning y’all. Every home, and every business, and every person can benefit from a good spring or regular deep clean. Whether you are deep cleaning digitally, mentally, professionally or just deep cleaning your studio, some of these above might help you come out feeling more organized, more prioritized, and better ready to take on the day. It’s that time y’all. Time to take the trash out, get the dust of the past off the shelves, and make room for the next chapter!
