The Porn Pyramid

Ms Cave, who featured in three Harry Potter movies, said she was joining the adult platform to pay off debt but added that she would not be doing or promoting anything sexual. – https://www.ndtv.com/

I am actually so tired of actresses or mainstream creators, getting into the adult industry world, and then trying to reword it like they aren’t doing sex work recently one creator who was popular as a young adult and a highly watched movie came out and said that she was going to do hair fetish content on only fans that her content is gonna be safe for work, but around the hair fetish niche, but it’s not sexual. She just wants to show off her hair and be the kinky, fun Mom, using this to pay off her debt.

No, there’s nothing inherently wrong about any of these statements. Sex work is a way that a lot of single moms who are struggling or just creators in general can make extra income to support their families. I love that, especially at a time when it can be hard to leave the house. It can’t be hard to get a job anyway; you want time for your family. There are a lot of reasons why but don’t undermine what others are doing, even if you aren’t showing off your body that is still sex work that is a form of sex work and when we start talking about and putting labels on it like that, we can start to deify it and make it into something. That’s not so taboo to Say.

This goes into a point I’ve been thinking about recently, the sex work hierarchy. How some types of sex work are viewed as normalized or fine, but the most sex oriented work is viewed as taboo. This is why there is a rising “acceptance” of online sex work versus full service. One is deemed better or more respectable by the masses. That’s not to say either are fully accepted, but the reaction would be very different if you told someone “I’m a full-service worker” versus ” I do Onlyfans”

BOTH are sex work.

The difference is the thoughts and feelings behind each job. More often than not, these thoughts come from inside the house. Ive seen people get hate from being a spicy voice actor and then accepting sexting requests – like one is inherently worse. BOTH are sex work. Creators in findom who “don’t show anything,” versus other dommes who do nudity. This is literally creating a Porn Pyramid. Instead of using your platform to bring awareness that ALL sex work is real work, it feels like we are demonizing certain content ( nudity, fetish, full service ) while trying to uphear to ” we are better.”

This way, other creators coming in from other platforms isn’t necessarily a bad thing; it brings more eyes to a platform. The way those creators talk about porn being created and made is what needs to change. We do sex work, and we are sex workers – with more places trying to limit safe sexual spaces and trends moving to more SFW content, there needs to be less distinction between selling feet versus full nudity, and more coming together and using the terms that match the work we do.

This just sat with me this week, but I would love to know – What do you think?

Stay Peachy~
