Reporting ‘Buyers’: When, Where, How and Why

Time wasters, scammers, cyber flashers, lions tigers and bears oh my! Navigating adult content as a creator or seller is a mine field of so-called customers out to do you harm. After a while, and a few trials by fire you will learn to better listen to and trust your gut instinct. But even veterans with years in the industry still can get burned. Here is when, how, and where to report when a sale or interaction goes bad.

When to Report

It’s time to make a report on a negative interaction the second certain lines are crossed. We make reports to help protect the rest of our selling community. These reports will not get us our time labor or content back, but they can make sure the asshole doesn’t go out and repeat the behavior with another creator. Here are some of the reasons to report:

Scamming: Scamming is when you have had either your labor, content, time, or goods stolen. This could apply any time mutually agreed upon expectations and requirements are not met.

Time Wasting: Time wasting is when someone will come usually under the guise of wanting to purchase content or a session and spend a significant amount of time discussing it among other things, only to not purchase. They never had the intent to purchase, your attention that they already got free was their goal. This is NOT someone who sends a handful or two of messages discussing something and then changing their mind. That is shopping and investigating options on the customers part and is not reportable.

Doxxing: Doxxing is when someone threatens you with your personal information. Usually we see a threat to expose personal information unless content or finances are sent in a form of blackmail. For more in depth on how to act when in this situation, give this video a watch.

Thief: This is a content thief. If someone has stolen your content, or other’s content, it needs to be reported. It does not matter if that content has even been re-distributed.

Picture Collector: A picture collector is someone who will come to sellers and request photos or videos from them with no intent on buying content. Often forms of this we see are ‘verification pics’ or when discussing content ‘sample/examples pics’.

Cyber flasher: like the naked guy in a trench coat, that unsolicited dick pick in your DMs is a reportable sexual offense. You must censor these images prior to posting an alert about them on any platform.

Minor: If you are shown proof a potential customer is underage, you must report them. This can help the entire community stay out of detrimental legal trouble. Proof of their age could be ID, a confession, etc.

Refused Verification: If you are selling off platform you must be age verifying. If a buyer outright refuses age verification it helps the community to report them. That way, if we know they wont verify and we require it, we wont waste our time. Note: if reporting someone for age verification refusal in r/FetishScammers you must have it posted on your profile that you require this.

Asshole Behavior: If someone is degrading, inappropriate, disrespectful, or in some other way an asshole in an egregious way, it could be worth reporting. When in doubt, it wont hurt to reach out to the mod teams where you are reporting to ask.
Asshole: If someone is outright awful, inappropriate or an asshole

Where and How to Report

There is a main hub in which buyer reports are centralized called r/FetishScammers. That subreddit is a crucial resource for us creators and sellers. Any time a new customer comes to you, search their usernames in the search bar here to make sure they have not been previously reported for anything.

Before Making a Report

Before making a report to r/FetishScammers you need to have a few things prepared:

  • The second things start to feel a bit wonky start screen shotting. Even if it turns into nothing, its better to have it than not. You need to be able to submit screenshot evidence of the offending event you are reporting for.
    • Those screenshots need to have all personally identifying information (such as IDs and face pictures) and all NSFW imagery redacted.
  • All known usernames and accompanying platforms of the person you are reporting.
  • Any extra details you know that can help someone identify this user (in the case they change accounts/account names).
  • An explanation of why you are making the report.

Making the Report

To make a report follow the below steps:

  1. Log in to a Reddit account separate from you promotional or selling account. Using a separate account helps these two areas:
    1. It prevents the person you reported from seeing it, ditching their account, and starting over with a new one.
    2. It keeps your profile looking clean. We know from our partnership resource with r/FetishBuyersCommunity that too many of these reports on a profile is a red flag for buyers.
  2. Open a new image post in r/FetishScammers. The images should consist of all your prepared screenshots showing the event or interaction.
  3. Your caption should consist of the following:
    • The username, exactly as it is displayed (ie u/Username @username) alongside the platform name if off Reddit (ie Twitter, Telegram, Onlyfans).
    • A short description of the event or reasoning for reporting
    • Note: stay respectful and brief. Name calling or venting could result in a post being removed. Keep that respect in comment sections as well and never shame, victim blame, or join any mob mentality.
  4. Place any extra details in the body of the post.
  5. Select the appropriate flair from: Scam, time wasters, doxer, pic collector, theif, cyber flasher, asshole, minor, refused Verification. If unsure which flair to use, reference the first section of this resource.
  6. Post.
    1. The mods may reach out for more details if needed. Please remain respectful and patient. The team is busting their ass for free for us y’all,

Other Places to Report

r/FetishHaven – The procedure for posting reports is roughly the same as above. Again, the mods may need more details. Please have patience with them. We are all sellers, moms, full time workers, etc.

r/Creators_Spicy_Tea – Create a post using the same formatting with the flair scammers. Must be verified to post.

Why Report

Why report? After all, a report wont get back what was stolen from us? For many offenses reported to r/FetishScammers they result in a global ban across all affiliated subreddits which I believe totals up to over 30. Though r/FetishScammers and r/fetishaven both will ban globally, not all reporting locations do. We still report to protect the rest of our community and work together to make it even just a little bit harder for the asshole to do it again.
